The
Château Carbonnieux was built at the end of the 14th
century, in the parish of Leognan, capital of the
Grandes Graves region, the heart of the bordeaux wines.
It belonged since 1424 to the Hospices of Bordeaux,
and then became the property of the old parliamentary
family du Ferron for two centuries (1519 to 1740).
From
1740 to 1790, the castle belonged to the monks of the Sainte
Croix Abbey.
During
the major part of the 19th century, the
domain was brought to the best conditions of quality and
production by the family Bouchereau.
