A vineyard already present on the 4th century, occupying an important place in the south facing hillside of Saint Emilion.

A great wine on the top of the hierarchy thanks to its excellent terroir. Certainly one of the two best of the Ausone appellation.

In the 4th century, the hillsides of Pavie and Ausone were planted with the very first vines in de region of Saint-Emilion.

The Château Pavie is composed of a unique vineyard of nearly 42 hectares. The unit can be subdivided in three easily identifiable soils, which constitute as many microclimates:

The calcareous plate, The hillside, with its dense and deep clays, The foot of the hillside, sandy-clayey and slightly gravelly.

All in all, the terroir of the Château Pavie profits from conditions extremely favorable to the vine growing: natural poverty of the soils, excellent sunning due to its southern exposure, natural drainage of the grounds because of the slope, not very frost susceptible character of the vineyard withdrawn from the wind of North;

Due to its situation, the vineyard is composed of a well studied grapes variety according to the noblest parts of its terroir with 60% of Merlot, 30% of Frank Cabernet, and 10% of Sauvignon Cabernet;

Its Wine storehouse, currently equipped with temperature-controlled wooden vats has entirely been are conditioned in order to proportionally adapt the vinification to the potential of the harvest determined by a very precise analyze of the grounds.

The terroir of Château Pavie naturally delivers a harvest marked by a remarkable power by preserving the smoothness through a maturation for 2 or 2 years 1/2, according to the vintage, in brand new barrels;

Let’s pay tribute to its owners, Mr & Mrs Perse for the exceptional effort which they devoted up to now to the vineyard and the wine storehouse of the Château Pavie, a remarkable of the appellation Saint-Emilion.
